For Professionals working with Domestic Violence Protection Orders...........A Survey

Are you working in domestic and family violence with domestic violence protection orders, information sharing, interagency cooperation and cross border issues to establish an understanding of existing practices?

There is a national survey currently being undertaken in relation to enforcement of domestic violence protection orders in Australia.  The survey is being conducted by the Queensland Centre for Domestic and Family Violence Research (CDFVR) under ANROWS (Australia’s National Research Organisation for Women’s Safety) Research Program 2014-2016.  The aim of the survey is to capture the perceptions of professionals such as police, magistrates, lawyers and victims’ advocates on enforcement of existing domestic violence protection orders, through which what helps, and what prevents, enforcement can be better identified.  It is important that DV advocates have their say and as such we are seeking your participation, and dissemination of the survey, so that DV advocates have a strong say in relation to this important topic.  Please use the surveylink below, and thank you in advance for your support and participation.

Have your say about Lifelong economic wellbeing for women in Australia

With a little less than four weeks to go before the online survey closes on 13th November, eS4W is encouraging all women to have their say about their lifelong economic wellbeing.

eS4W is seeking women’s views on their economic empowerment; their ability to cope with changing conditions in the economy; their participation in paid work and their income in later life into retirement.

Economic empowerment

eS4W is exploring the capacity of women in Australia to participate in, contribute to and benefit from growth processes in ways that recognise the value of their contributions, respect their dignity and make it possible to negotiate a fairer distribution of the benefits of growth.

Economic empowerment increases women’s access to economic resources and opportunities including jobs, financial services, property and other productive assets, skills development and market information.

Please participate and promote the online survey

eS4W is inviting all women in Australia, young and not so young, to the online survey.

Are you a NSW CWA Member with an Interesting Story to Tell?

Can you help? Do you know a fellow CWA of NSW member who has an interesting story to tell? Or perhaps your own story will inspire and surprise!!

The United Nations International Day of Rural Women recognises “the critical role and contribution of rural women, including indigenous women, in enhancing agricultural and rural development, improving food security and eradicating rural poverty.” http://www.un.org/en/events/ruralwomenday/index.shtml

This year the day will be celebrated on Thursday 15 October 2015 and we are looking for a member(s) who demonstrates the diverse group of women who make up the CWA of NSW and their extraordinary achievements, either local, nationally or internationally.

They could be someone who has dedicated themselves to volunteer work locally or overseas; someone who is involved in community projects; or perhaps someone who is involved in fundraising initiatives which support rural and regional areas. The only requirement is that the project, work or initiative is current.

The member(s) will be interviewed and featured in a press release which will be distributed to key metro and rural media across NSW, and may be required to participate in media interviews on the 15th October.
