Welcome to our first newsletter for 2011. The National Rural Women’s Coalition is embracing social media so we can engage and connect with rural women, build relationships and have a conversation. So why have we chosen to use social media as a key communication tool? Twitter, facebook, blogs, You tube and other similar tools are becoming ingrained in the way we relate to one another and work together. It is shaping the way we think and connect with each other, and can assist in building trusting and strong relationships.

The National Rural Women’s Coalition now have a profile on twitter, a page on facebook and our very own YouTube channel – you can read more about them in the following articles of this newsletter.

Our latest project, the National Rural Women’s Network, was launched in late 2010, at a gala dinner and free online technology workshops for rural women in Griffith, NSW.
This has been a huge undertaking for the NRWC, and one that many rural women around the country believe is long overdue. We are making the most of the latest technology and coupling it with traditional networking methods to further develop a robust and ever-expanding Network...
